Installation in five steps
YachtSoft runs inside Rhino 8. Trial and licence setup follows these steps.
- STEP 1
Install Rhino 8.27+
From McNeel (rhino3d.com). YachtSoft requires a working Rhino 8.27 or later installation with Grasshopper — Rhino is licensed separately.
- STEP 2
Choose Designer or Pro
Designer is the professional monohull workflow; Pro adds multihulls, weights, performance, detailed reporting and a bill of materials. Costing is not included.
- STEP 3
Install YachtSoft
Use Rhino Package Manager: search YachtSoft for Pro or yachtsoft-designer for Designer. The team confirms module compatibility for your operating system before access. YachtSoft runs inside Rhino.
- STEP 4
Activate your licence
Enter the licence key supplied for Designer or Pro. The licensing system unlocks the correct package.
- STEP 5
Start designing
Open a hull template and follow the setup guide supplied with your installer.

Is YachtSoft a standalone application?
No. YachtSoft runs inside Rhino 8. Install Rhino first, then add YachtSoft.
Which operating systems are supported?
Windows is the primary supported platform. macOS availability is confirmed per module, so contact us with the modules and Rhino setup you intend to use before purchasing.
What happens when my annual licence expires?
Your models are ordinary Rhino files — they remain yours and continue to open in Rhino. An expired annual licence pauses YachtSoft until you renew; a perpetual licence keeps the purchased version available.
Can I move my licence to a new machine?
Yes. Licences are managed through the YachtSoft licensing system and can be deactivated on one machine and activated on another.
How do I get help?
Email support is included with Designer and Pro. Studios can discuss volume licensing and support directly. Use the contact page to reach YachtSoft support.
Where do I report a bug?
Through the contact page — include your Rhino version, YachtSoft package and what you expected to happen. Confirmed fixes appear in the public release notes.
